Bill Love

Chief Executive Officer

Bill became an active entrepreneur in construction & project development when he founded SKC Electric, Inc. in 1980. In 1997 SKC Electric went public when Bill led the merger of a $280M revenue peer group. In 2004, Bill became a partner in E Light based in Englewood, CO. Bill has been an active investor and advisor to management working with over a dozen companies through venture funds. In 2007 Bill started as an investor in the renewable energy industry in BioStar Organics. Bill became CEO in 2009. Bill utilized his expertise in the renewable energy industry, electrical & solar construction, and project financing to found BioStar Solar in 2012.

Mark Mansheim

President

Mark graduated with a Business degree from AIB in 1982. After spending 13 years as an associate buyer and manager with Canadian Clothier, Mark co-founded Media Corp in 1996. Mark served as Managing Partner and VP of Outside Sales until entering the LED Lighting Industry in 2010 when he co-founded Bright Green Savings. He currently serves as President.

David Smart

VP Sales

David graduated from Indiana University with a Management degree from Indiana’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs. His background includes various entrepreneurial and sales endeavors starting with the founding of his first company, Smart ‘n’ EZ Apparel in 2009. Smart ‘n’ EZ Apparel provided custom apparel and promotional goods for campus organizations at numerous Big 10 schools. Upon graduation, David and his partner sold their company. 

After college, David moved to Washington DC where he began a career in politics. Working in outreach on Capitol Hill, David began selling LED projects on the side. He eventually followed the industry home to Kansas City where he began working at BioStar. 

David has multiple years of experience developing energy efficiency projects with a focus in LED lighting. As VP of Sales for BioStar, his experience includes negotiating purchasing agreements, sales and development, project management and utility consulting.

Becky Jacobson

Estimator / Office Manager

A graduate of Purdue University Calumet, Becky worked for Media Corp from 2002-2010, providing administrative support and assisting in upper level management. She launched a new successful marketing department with a focus in print media and home shopping networks such as QVC and HSN. In 2010, Mark Mansheim hired Becky to help launch his new company, Bright Green Savings. Her responsibilities included the development of marketing and support materials. She also became Lead Estimator. Becky completed her education with the American Society of Professional Estimators. Becky continues to play an integral role supporting the rapid growth of Biostar Lighting as Lead Estimator and Office Manager.

Lee Ullman

Partner

Lee G. Ullman graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in August of 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in History and International Relations. He went on to obtain his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. After graduation from law school, Lee began his own firm that specialized in complex business and real estate transactions. Lee has been involved in numerous real estate transactions as an attorney, consultant, active participant and partner using traditional and non-traditional methods to finance the transactions. Lee’s experience in real estate helped him recognize the importance of renewables and energy generation with respect to making buildings more efficient and keeping operating costs low. As a partner in BioStar Lighting, Lee has utilized his financial background to structure multiple solar and energy efficient lighting projects.

Bill Vinnicombe

Partner

Bill is the CEO of Solar Financing Solutions LLC. Founded in 2006, Solar Financing Solutions is a leading customer financing program development, implementation and management firm specializing in the solar pv, lighting and energy efficiency industries. Prior to Solar Financing Solutions, Bill spent over 25 years in development and management of vendor and customer financing programs in the high technology sector. Bill’s experience includes building an outsourced customer financing program with Cisco Systems Capital and successfully acquiring it (in a MBO) from American Express in 2003. Prior to Cisco, Bill held senior positions with various financial institutions in the captive financing industry. Bill has an M.B.A from the Anderson School at UCLA.

Paul Schmitt

Partner

Paul is the COO of Solar Financing Solutions LLC. Paul has over 30 years experience developing and managing vendor and customer financing relationships. Paul’s experience includes senior roles at banks (JP Morgan Chase, Dresdner), non-bank lenders (Newcourt, U.S. Leasing) and vendors (founding COO of Dell Financial Services). In addition, Paul also has experience with public limited and master-limited partnerships. Paul holds a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Missy Love

Managing Director Marketing

Missy Love, President of Alaskan Fur, is the third generation to lead the privately held Alaskan Fur Company, one of the nation’s oldest and largest furriers. Missy joined Alaskan Fur Company in 1984 as advertising manager and was named president in 1992. Missy operates Alaskan Fur with a business philosophy that values each individual – customer, employee or vendor – as a potential contributor to Alaskan Fur’s success. She has a keen eye for talented young fashion designers and the ability to place Alaskan Fur in the avant-garde of retailers showcasing emerging designers or fur coat trends destined for success. Alaskan Fur has continued to show a positive net profit and adjusted earnings despite overall economic downturns.

Among other responsibilities, Missy has directly influenced Alaskan’s effective and impressive marketing campaign and has ensured it has stayed current with changing media trends. While Alaskan has always believed in the importance of advertising in different media in its markets, under Missy’s direction the marketing mix has changed over the years, especially with the onset of social media. Website development and enhancements, along with an increase in email blasts and Facebook posts, as well as Instagram have been added during Missy’s tenure.

Operating from a position of “building from” rather than “clinging to” tradition, as Managing Director, Marketing Missy’s expertise and experience will prove equally beneficial to the long term growth of BioStar Renewables.

Dana Gordon

Vice President, Administration

Dana has worked in the lighting sector, focusing on energy efficient lighting, since 2008.  She began her work in lighting as National Account Manager at MIROR Lighting until being hired as Director of Business Development at Optimum Energy Solutions.  She was quickly promoted to Vice President at Optimum where she oversaw all aspects of their energy efficient lighting business including audits, design, proposals, purchasing, shipping, installation, warranty administrations and marketing.  Dana not only has a comprehensive knowledge of energy efficient lighting, but also excels at building customer relationships and new business development.  Prior to working in the lighting industry, Dana worked as a commercial construction project coordinator.  She is a Certified Apartment Supplier with the National Apartment Association and received her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Kansas.

Andrew Stancati

Project Manager

Andrew graduated from Indiana University in 2012 and has since installed over 80 megawatts of solar across the country and managed over 90 solar installations.  In 2014, Andrew was the project manager of a Fortune 500 client portfolio that consisted of 88 commercial solar projects, built over the course of 7 months, across 7 states, and totaling over 5 Megawatts.  He was responsible for managing all aspects of these projects; from site selection, to engineering and design, to construction. Andrew has experience managing ground mount and rooftop solar projects in the commercial and utility scale markets ranging in size from 30 kilowatts to 40 Megawatts.

Theresa Johnstone

Estimator / Project Manager

Theresa assists with proposals, product selection and rebate analysis at BioStar Lighting. A graduate of Northwest University, Theresa was trained as an electrician at a young age. She utilized her knowledge working in the estimating department at SKC Electric. She then worked at Farmers Insurance for 14 years in both the claims and risk management departments, including estimating damages to electrical products. Her extensive experience in both the electrical industry and financial analysis makes her a valuable member of the BioStar team.

Nancy Hellige

Project Administrator

Nancy plays an integral role in the administration of BioStar projects, managing accounts and finances, as well as facilitating leasing. With 20 years of experience in accounting and finance, she is skilled at keeping pace with BioStar’s growing project pipeline. Nancy received her Bachelor of Arts in Business with a concentration in Finance from the University of Iowa. She worked for Media Corp for 13 years, managing a variety of administrative tasks including accounting, payroll, human resources and benefits. She also assisted Picture Perfect Interiors with accounts payable and receivable, payroll and scheduling.

Cooper Hylton

Sales Associate

Cooper received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a Finance concentration from Colorado State University in Fort Collins.  During his time there, he spent a year working at Wolf Robotics, first as an Accounting intern and then a Finance intern.  He also worked for Rocky Mountain Painting on their sales team and as a crew manager.  Cooper shares an interest in renewable resources, and he is thrilled to utilize his knowledge of finance and sales at a company which promotes environmentally-friendly technology that will improve our energy future.

Chuck Vanasse

Director, Energy Services Network

Chuck has a 30-year history of business success in the Enterprise Software, Internet Services, and Media sectors. He has served as owner-operator of leading firms that have brought innovations to market.

Chuck founded Saepio Technologies, which developed the first Internet based Web-to-print agile media solution. He also founded Claimport, which introduced the first digital workman’s compensation claim fulfillment system and was later acquired by HNC Software. In founding Unicom Communications in the 90s, he helped establish the original SET standard for live credit card clearance technology on the Internet, contributing toward the original universal basis for electronic transactions. Unicom Communications was later sold to Rocky Mountain Internet. Chuck earned his Bachelor of Science in Journalism Broadcast Media and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Kansas.

Laura Lockton Van Meter

Marketing & Social Media

Laura received her degree in Architectural Studies with a focus on Sustainable Design and graduated with distinction from University of Kansas.  She also studied graphic design and photography at Washington University in St. Louis.  Owning and managing a sustainability education organization for 7 years and an EcoResort for 9 years gave her experience in a wide range of skills, from business management and marketing to organics and renewables.  She also has over 15 years of experience in web design, graphics and marketing.  She has taught workshops about various environmental issues, and has promoted sustainable design through online media.  Passionate about sustainable design and renewable energy, she is excited to utilize her wide range of experience and knowledge at BioStar Renewables.
